Unions warn of strike action at Brussels Airlines :

Trade unions at the Belgian flag carrier Brussels Airlines have announced their intention to take strike action. Industrial action could already start in two weeks’ time.
Talks between unions and management about a wage increase for cabin crews have broken down.
The unions are pressing for a 7% pay increase spread over two years.The socialist union announced today that stoppages could start as early as next week.

Brussels Airlines extends A330-200 operations to Rwanda, till DEC 2011 :

According to Amadeus, Brussels Airlines extends its A330-200 flights to Rwanda, till 13 DEC 2011. A330-200s will operate flights each Tuesdays, Thrusdays and Fridays. A330-300s will operate flights on Saturdays.

The first flight of the new Brussels A330-200 is Scheduled to land at Kigali, today.

The Belgium national flag carrier has just added two A330-200s. The airline will use them on African routes and on future USA routes. The aircraft will offer more capacity in bizclass but less in eco class compared to the A330-300s. The A330-200 is configured with 42 seats in bizclass and 184 in eco class, while the A330-300 is configured with 30 seats in biz class and 254 in eco class.

Turkish Airlines starts code share flights to Rwanda :

According to Amadeus, Turkish Airlines started today code share flights between Addis Ababa (Ethiopia) and Kigali. Flights are operated by Ethiopian Airlines.
This route is already operated in code share with EgyptAir (MS), Lufthansa (LH), RwandAir (WB) and South African Airways (SA).
Addis Ababa-Kigali-Addis Ababa routing from August 22nd 2011 to October 31st 2011. Flights continue to Bujumbura.

Turkish Airlines and RwandAir signs a major partnership :

RwandAir and Turkish Airlines signed a major partnership, this week at Istanbul. This agreement will include schedule synchronization, code sharing, technical support and training. Passengers of both airlines will enjoy to use the Istanbul and Kigali hub network, with one ticket.
With the delivery of the first B737-800, on 25th august 2011, Turkish Airlines will bring more skills in maintenance and training sectors. Turkish Airlines will start flights to Kigali, in April 2012.

Turkish Airlines the best European airlines in 2011, has confirmed that they will start a 4 weekly service in April 2012.
Flights will be operated in code share with RwandAir. Turkish Airlines is member of Star Alliance, the wolrd’s biggest airlines alliance RwandAir has already partenership with Star Alliance airlines : Ethiopian Airlines and Brussels Airlines (code share), Lufthansa Technik and South African Airways, for maintenance on CRJs and B737s (500s & 800s. (RwandAir Fleet)
No infos about planes which will be used to Rwanda, but it seems that new B737-900ERs could be the appropriate aircraft, cause Turkish Airlines will serve Kenya and Tanzania this Boeing.
Another Star Alliance airline could be start flights to Rwanda, next year : Egyptair

According to an interview of Emmanuel Hategeka, the Permanent Secretary (PS) in the Ministry of Trade and Industry, Turkish Airlines will start flights to Rwanda, in near future.

Brussels Airlines adds a 4th weekly flight to Kigali :

To full face to the growing demand and to compete with KLM flights, Brussels Airlines will add a 4th weekly flight to Kigali. Flight will be operated from October 31st 2010, on Monday.
On the way, the flight is operated non stop, while the return flight is operated via Nairobi. Note that on Mondays and Saturdays, Brussels Airlines has traffic rights, on Nairobi-Kigali route. It means, that Brussels Airlines can sell tickets. Flights are operated under US Airways flight number. The Kigali-Brussels sector is operated in code share, with RwandAir, United and Lufthansa.

The monday flight is now operated on Friday.
