Qatar Airways to fly to Rwanda, from early 2012 :

After South African Airways (17 January 2012) and Turkish Airlines (April 2012), a third airline will enter in the Rwandan market in 2012. It will be Qatar Airways, which was named the world’s best airline in 2011. The airline will operate flights from its Doha hub to Kigali via Entebbe in Uganda. Flights will probably operated with Airbus A320s.
Since 2007, RwandAir has an interline ticketing agreement with Qatar Airways. It means that Qatar Airways can sell tickets for Rwanda and vice versa. Kigali appears in the Qatar Airways reservation system
Qatar Airways has an extensive network, in Asia (China, Japan, South Korea and India), Americas (USA & Canada) and Europe (UK France, Belgium, Germnay). Poeple travelling to or from Rwanda, will enjoy to fly on the 5 stars airline and transit through the new Doha Airport, which wil be opened in 2012.
With the arrival of Qatar Airways, the Rwanda Development Board’s (RDB) hopes to see more people to come in Rwanda. The RDB recently announced that arrivals are up, again, by over 28 percent compared to the previous year, manifesting the result of hard work and creative approaches to marketing the country and keeping it in the spotlight of the global travel media.
Emirates SkyCargo links Dubai to Rwanda :

According to OAG.com, Emirates SkyCargo flies between Dubai and Kigali, since 5 october. After verification, Kigali appears on Emirates SkyCargo network. Flights are operated by the brand new B777-200F, each wednesdays.
This is a good news for Rwanda, because Rwandan traders will easily enable to export products, such as flowers, Bananas and Tea, to Dubai, France, Belgium, UK, India, Pakistan, Japan, South Korea, China and USA, which are the mains market for Rwanda, outside of Africa.
Studies suggest that cargo flight charges in Rwanda are twice higher than those in other East African Community countries such as Kenya. With the arrival of Emirates traders hope that cargo flight cost will go down.
