Air Zimbabwe plans to serve Rwanda

The airline which taken delivery of an A320 this week, plans to serve Rwanda, in a near future. In 2007, Air Zimbabwe planned to serve Kigali (here) and recently, RwandAir announced that they will serve Harare.
The sky seems to lighten up, for Air Zimbabwe. In deed several good news were received from Zimbabwe, this week.
Air Zimbabwe is in talks with several potential strategic partners after government agreed to take over its toxic $298 million debt.
Furthermore, an A320 joined the Air Zimbabwe fleet, this week. The A320 will give to Air Zimbabwe a competitive advantage in terms of fuel and operationalisation, according to the According to Transport and Infrastructural Development minister Obert Mpofu:
“Mpofu said the A320 offers optimised solutions as it has lesser fuel burn compared to the current fleet hence it will have lower operating costs, less noise and air pollution”.
Obert Mpofu has added that with the arrival of the A320, the airline plans to spread its wings, across the region. Rwanda is among the potential destinations :
“I’m not in a position to give figures now as this is a special arrangement. Right now management and board are working the routing of the aircraft But we’re looking at servicing regional destinations such as Rwanda, Lubumbashi in DRC, Durban and other routes in the Sadc,” he said.
