Afra Airways (Burundi) eyes Kigali route, from late summer 2016, using an ERJ-145
Portuguese Travel website Presstur has announced that a new airline based in Burundi, will begin operations from August or September 2016. The name of the airline will be Afra Airways (Afraair Solution)
The fleet will be composed of ERJ-145, that will be join by CRJ-200 and Cessna Citation according to the air services licence. The airline plans to serve Rwanda, Kenya, South Sudan, Ethiopia, Zambia, DR Congo and Uganda.
The airline will invest 5 250 000 millions of euros to start flights. It has already a GSA (Global Sale Agent) which is the Spanish based company, Summerwinds.
Afra Airways hopes to open the first Aviation School in Burundi as well to built a maintenance hangar and to start ground handling operations at Bujumbura Airport.
The shareholder of the airline (probably the CEO) Manuel Pereira, works since 30 years in the travel industry, he has created the Spanish company Emitur S.A.
